What customers say?

“ Lovely cafe, so cheap but quality produce. I will definitely be back. I don't know anywhere you could get an omelette with two fillings and a pot of tea for £6.80 !! Friendly staff and food made to order, I only wish I lived nearer. ”

“ Absolutely amazing! We had the afternoon tea & the sandwiches were absolutely gorgeous made with beautiful bread and plenty of filling. Scones & cakes were delicious, lovely quaint place run by a friendly lady & nothing was too much trouble, little extras like crisps & and a bowl of salad made a pleasant change as normally these aren't ever on offer. We will be regular visitors here from now on as we were blown away how fresh the sandwiches & scones were, been to expensive cafes/hotels and been given stale limp offerings with stingy fillings before but not here, a total joy. ”

“ Under new management since Sept 2021, the new proprietor Eve is pleasant and friendly. She bakes her own cakes and scones and runs the place with quiet efficiency. We had afternoon tea and the home-made scones were lovely. Highly recommend the place. Very nice atmosphere, good service and lovely location. Easy parking nearby and a beautiful historic church just steps away ”

“ Myself and a friend so much enjoyed our afternoon tea here which was delicious and just the right size with great value for money. The waitresses were lovely and the service excellent. We will be back thank you so much. ”

“ It's the old Horspools bakery. The staff were very helpful and the quality of the food was very good. Our pananies were piping hot with a small salad, and small coleslaw. It would have been nice if there was a little more salad. The quantity did seem a little on the tight side. Decafe tea excellent. There are toilet facilities which were clean and well looked after. One star docked as the service took a long time considering it was quite, and the place lacks an atmosphere. It needs pictures, plants and decoration to make it less stark. Will try the breakfast if we go again. Its a friendly café with plenty of regulars. Dec 2023 update. We've been here a good few times, had the breakfasts and paninis. We are now getting to kown the lovely staff. They make their own cakes, the food is always fresh and they are always really friendly. It is now one of my favourite tea rooms in the village. ”

“ This is a lovely little cafe with a fantastic ambiance. The menu is really good and typical of what you'd find in a tearoom like this. The prices are good and reasonable and the quality of the food and drink is excellent making this tearoom really good value for money! Although there is no car park; there are plenty of spaces on the surrounding streets and getting a spot is incredibly easy. The staff are very friendly and engage in conversation. All in all a lovely place to stop off and have a bite to eat and a drink! ”

“ We went here whilst visiting Rushcliffe Country Park and we were not disappointed. A very clean Tea Room with friendly service. We had a cooked breakfast with another in our party a Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich. (Lovely thick and tasty bread). I love my tea so was very happy with my very big pot all to myself. Each of us used the convenience and that was spotless also. The cakes looked great but with a walk in front of us we had to resist. So if you are anywhere near the Country Park, treat yourself to this lovely gem of a place just a short walk away. The bonus being it was affordable and we will return again when we are next in the area. Well done to the staff. ”
